Micro Lesson One: Reflection

Micro Lesson One: Reflection Instructional Decisions/Teaching: Overall, I think that my lesson went well. I was unable to get an actual copy of the book that I was reading out loud so I used a recorded version from YouTube and put the sound on silent so I could still read it. I thought this might pose a problem during my lesson however, it went fairly smooth. One thing that didn’t go very well was the discussion after the story. I was hoping for more of a “class” discussion about why sequencing is important however, I just couldn’t seem to get a good discussion going amongst the group. I feel like my objectives and standards were well aligned with my lesson throughout the whole lesson. One modification that I made during the implementation of my lesson was at the end. I decided that we still had some time left so I had each student present their story to the other peers. This was a fun change because it allowed the students to show off their own creativity and have some fun.

Reflection- Assessing Prior Knowledge and Planning Instructions: o   What do the students need to know prior to the lesson? Prior to the lesson the students will need to know the basic concept of a story, things such as: characters in a story, how to identify the beginning, middle and end of a story, the title of a story and even how to ask questions about a story. Students will also need to know how to safely use a computer and the internet. They will also need to know how to type on a keyboard and use the resource Storybird to successfully complete the project that will be assigned. o    How will prior knowledge and experience be assessed? Prior knowledge and experience will be assessed within previous lessons. The students have already done a project using Storybird and have already been taught how to use it as well as been assessed on the skill.   o   How will you use this information in the planning process? I will use my previous knowledge from other lesso

Global Digital Citizenship Reflection

Global Digital Citizenship Reflection 1. In what learning environments would the technology resource I presented be appropriate?     The technology resource that I presented was Powtoon and if this resource is used efficiently it could potential be used in all learning environments as long as culture is taken into consideration. I used an example in my presentation where the teacher created a fun Powtoon to present the daily bell work. Creating bell work with this resource can fit all four categories of global digital citizenship including: Safe, Ethical, and Legal Use of Technology, Socially Responsible Digital Use, Equitable Access of Technology and Global Awareness/ Cultural Understanding. Creating a video for your students to view is a safe way to use this source because the teacher is presenting the source in class and the students are not actually going on the internet themselves. The students don't need their own access to technology for this strategy and a
