Blog Phase 3: Comprehensive Reflection             After re-reading my philosophy of education I have decided that my philosophy did not change after this semester. This is because in my philosophy I mentioned that I wanted to use hands on learning as well as integrate technology into my everyday teaching style and this is still true. I feel like I have more tools in my belt to use in the classroom and that this semester has really taught me great ways and strategies of how I can integrate different types of technology within my classroom and curriculum.             I will use technology in my classroom every day. I will use it for daily bell work by creating a cute PowToon video for my students to watch each morning that will give them specific instructions.      Micro Lesson 3: Reflection     Instructional Decisions/Teaching (InTask Standard # 9):  I thought that overall my lesson went very well. Out of the three micro lessons that I wrote this one was my favorite. My students really enjoyed the two videos I showed and I think this was a great way to get them familiar with parts of a graph. They also had fun playing the “plotting coordinates game” that I had them play. Finally, my final assessment really got their attention and I feel like my students stayed actively engaged throughout the whole lesson. I do think that if I were to teach this lesson to 4 th grade students I would choose an assessment that had less plot to graph because they seemed to get a little confused when drawing the dinosaur. My objectives and standards were well maintained during the whole lesson. For this lesson, the only modification I made was for students who finished their online game quickly could look around the website at other math games while we

Micro Lesson 3: Graphing Coordinates Reflection- Assessing Prior Knowledge and Planning Instructions: ·          What do the students need to know prior to the lesson? Prior to the lesson my students will need to know math skills that they have learned throughout the year that lead up to this lesson. The students will also need to know how to use a computer and surf the internet safely. ·          How will prior knowledge and experience be assessed? Prior knowledge and experience will be assessed within previous lessons. The students have already done many activities and assignments that use math skills that lead up to this lesson as well as computer skills. Micro Lesson 2: Blog Phase 2: REFLECTION 1.Instructional Decisions/Teaching: I thought that this lesson went very well. My anticipatory set of showing them a piggy bank and asking what it is used for really seemed to grab my student’s attention. I think that the final activity went very well. The students were asked to do some research on the internet and come up with their own budget. The students really got into researching and they seemed to really have fun with the activity. I think overall the lesson went smooth. The thing that didn’t go so well during the lesson was the timing. The students flew through the other parts of the lesson. I should have had more ways for my students to interact during the guided practice of the lesson. I think that my standards and objectives stayed aligned throughout my whole lesson. I really made sure not to steer away from the objectives that I had set for the lesson. One modification that I made during my lesson was sharing ideas

Micro Lesson One: Reflection Instructional Decisions/Teaching: Overall, I think that my lesson went well. I was unable to get an actual copy of the book that I was reading out loud so I used a recorded version from YouTube and put the sound on silent so I could still read it. I thought this might pose a problem during my lesson however, it went fairly smooth. One thing that didn’t go very well was the discussion after the story. I was hoping for more of a “class” discussion about why sequencing is important however, I just couldn’t seem to get a good discussion going amongst the group. I feel like my objectives and standards were well aligned with my lesson throughout the whole lesson. One modification that I made during the implementation of my lesson was at the end. I decided that we still had some time left so I had each student present their story to the other peers. This was a fun change because it allowed the students to show off their own creativity and have some fun.

Reflection- Assessing Prior Knowledge and Planning Instructions: o   What do the students need to know prior to the lesson? Prior to the lesson the students will need to know the basic concept of a story, things such as: characters in a story, how to identify the beginning, middle and end of a story, the title of a story and even how to ask questions about a story. Students will also need to know how to safely use a computer and the internet. They will also need to know how to type on a keyboard and use the resource Storybird to successfully complete the project that will be assigned. o    How will prior knowledge and experience be assessed?
